manager Tony Waddington and the world of flowing football and life in the London fast lane he experienced during the roaring

Denis
Smith Autobiography
Just One Of Seven
SIGNED Copy
Condition - New
Available on sale we
have a signed hardback copy of Denis Smith's autobiography Just One Of Seven. Denis Smith was one of football's real
hardman. A man who knew no fear, Smith's fierce tackling once earned him the accolade in the Guinness Book of Records
of the most injured man in football. Despite his reputation as a hatchet man, earned partly because of his tough upbringing
on the unforgiving streets of Stoke-on-Trent, Smith was an integral part of the Stoke City team which won the first major
trophy in the club's history in 1972.
He went on to have a successful management career following his
departure from Stoke managing clubs such as West Bromwich Albion, Oxford United, Bristol City and Wrexham.
Smith's autobiography reveals his tough upbringing amidst the gangs of Stoke-on-Trent, how he helped save Sir Alex Ferguson's
job, the stories behind encounters with the likes of Ian Botham, Eddie Jordan, Clive Lloyd, Geoff Hurst, Frank Williams and
how he nearly changed the course of former England coach Steve MacLaren's career.
Denis Smith has signed the
book on the title page.

Lou Macari Autobiography
'Football
My Life'
SIGNED Copy
Condition - New
For sale we have a signed paperback copy of Lou Macari's
autobiography 'Football My Life'. Football has dominated Lou Macari's life in more ways than you could possibly
mention. Taken on as an apprentice by Celtic in 1967, Macari learnt his football the old-fashioned way. He quickly broke into
the first team, winning Scottish league titles and Scottish Cups in both 1971 and 1972, but it was at Manchester United, following
a shock transfer in January 1973, that the attacking midfielder's skill turned him into a household name. Macari
was the leading light in a free-flowing forward line as Tommy Docherty's side won promotion back into the First Division
in 1975. Two years later, Lou scored the winner as United beat Liverpool to win the FA Cup and he went on to score 97 goals
in more than 400 appearances for United. He also won 24 caps for Scotland and represented his country in the infamous 1978
World Cup Finals. After leaving United in 1984, Macari moved into management with Swindon Town, leading the club to back-to-back
promotions. It was there, however, that Macari was implicated in a betting scandal which, although he was later fully exonerated,
blighted his managerial career. Lou went on to manage at West Ham United, Birmingham City, Stoke City, in his dream job
at Celtic, then finally at Huddersfield Town. Football had one final blow for Macari, when one of his sons, Jonathan, committed
suicide. The tragedy still tears his family apart. In his long-awaited autobiography, Lou Macari tells with typical candour
of football then and of football now, of the glory days and the truth behind the scandals, and of the perils that threaten
the beautiful game today. It is a story like no other.

Mickey Thomas Autobiography
Kickups, Hiccups, Lockups
SIGNED Copy
Condition - New
For sale we have a signed copy of Mickey
Thomas' autobiography 'Kickups, Hiccups, Lockups'. The book gives the lowdown on the career ofthe
‘Welsh George Best’, during a remarkable football career spanning spells at Wrexham, Manchester United, Chelsea,
Everton – and Kirkham Open Prison FC. Mickey’s world didn’t
just revolve around pulling on boots on a Saturday afternoon for club and country. His life was dedicated to pulling birds,
pranks and generally getting into scrapes which would make Paul Gascoigne look like a choirboy. But no-one knows about the
heart-breaking events in his private life which Mickey has kept secret for twenty years. How he hit rock bottom, and below,
and survived as one of the greatest characters the game has ever known.
From
his early days growing up on a rough council estate, leaving school at 14 without the ability to read and write, through to
his spells at the bright lights of Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge, where he became a cult hero for fans who recognised his
rogue and unique genius, this is football’s ultimate rollercoaster ride story. There are extraordinary highs, and heart-rending
lows – none more so than the episode in 1993 when he was jailed for passing counterfeit money to apprentices.
Through it all, Mickey has endeared a generation of football fans with his good humour and boundless energy and enthusiasm
for the game and life. Mickey’s story is one of the most exciting, enthralling and touching football autobiographies.
