Barry Fry
arrived at Birmingham City during the early part of the 1993–94 season which had started badly. The arrival
did not prevent relegation, but Fry's first full season brought promotion back to the second tier and victory in the Autowindscreens
Trophy at Wembley, beating Carlisle United with a Paul Tait golden goal.
Barry was much loved at Blues and
it is said of him that he brought the fun back with his style of management and unbeleivable turnover of players. In
1996 Barry was sacked from St Andrews to make way for club legend Trevor Francis.
